Expert care for women's sports injuries
While many athletic injuries are sport-specific and unrelated to whether you are male or female, some studies have shown that women are more susceptible to certain sports-related injuries. Women are also more likely to be affected by common orthopedic conditions and some medical conditions are also unique to athletic women. Our providers are experts in their respective fields and they take a collaborative approach to advancing the standard of care of musculoskeletal conditions in women.
Injuries and conditions that are more common among women include:
- Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears
- Patellofemoral syndrome (runner's knee)
- Shoulder instability
- Frozen shoulder
- Labral tears in the hip
- Stress fractures
- Hormonal imbalance
