A Matter of Balance

A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to help older adults manage falls and increase activity levels. We offer classes in person and virtually.

Do you have concerns about falling?

Many older adults worry about falls and restrict their activities to avoid them. We work to address these concerns with small group instruction led by two trained facilitators.

You will learn to:
  • View falls as controllable.
  • Set goals for increasing activity.
  • Make changes to reduce fall risks at home.
  • Exercise to increase strength and balance.

Who should attend?

Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength, anyone who has fallen in the past, and anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns.

Our classes can be offered both in person and virtually, for a small group of 8–12 participants.

  • The in-person class includes 8 two-hour sessions.
  • The virtual class includes 9 two-hour sessions.
