Blood and Marrow Transplant Program
Exceptional transplant care close to home
The Blood and Marrow Transplant Program (BMT) at Prisma Health specializes in a variety of stem cell transplant procedures to provide the best possible outcomes in patients with bloodborne diseases. Our program is accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) for autologous peripheral blood progenitor cell transplantation – the first transplant program in South Carolina to receive this prestigious accreditation.
The Prisma Health Cancer Institute is also the first and only collection site for the National Marrow Donor Program. This means that registered bone marrow donors don’t have to travel to have their stem cells harvested. You can do everything in Greenville, regardless of where your recipient is located. The program allows you to stay closer to home and family support, easing the strain of a serious illness.
Advanced treatment for a range of conditions
Our dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and transplant coordinators are specially trained to deliver the best treatment for cancers and diseases of the blood, including:
- Asymptomatic or smoldering myeloma
- Solid tumors
You may self-refer to the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program by calling 864-987-7000. However, it is preferable for a doctor to make a referral. That way, the doctor can provide a detailed treatment history and facilitate the transfer of records, including chemotherapy records, laboratory results, films and/or biopsy specimens.
