Adolescent Recovery Center
The Center provides intensive, structured treatment for teens experiencing difficulties functioning in their family, school or community. We work closely with adolescents and their families to provide assessment and treatment to help them live – and even thrive – within their environment.
Patients meet weekly with a psychiatrist, who will assess and monitor their needs. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who have additional, specialized training in adolescent psychiatry and addiction medicine. They also meet with clinical therapists and adjunctive therapists, who help teens learn to cope with their condition and improve their communication and stress management skills. This multi-disciplinary allows for thorough assessment and various methods of treatment – which improves the chance of your teen’s recovery
We provide two levels of care to meet the needs of our clients, both providing a mixture of group counseling, family counseling and support:
Partial Hospitalization Program
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides a structured, therapeutic environment as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization, or as a transition from hospitalization. Teens attend group therapy five days a week for a total of 20 hours of treatment per week. The average length of this level of care is two or three weeks.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for clients who require more contact than weekly appointments but do not require Partial Hospitalization. IOP can be utilized both as an entry into treatment or as a transition from PHP. Groups meet three days a week for a total of 12 hours of treatment per week.
In the group settings, adolescents share their thoughts and experiences with one another so they can learn to identify and understand their own experiences and symptoms and ultimately make healthier choices.

Psychiatry Outpatient Clinics for assessment, counseling and more
Adults, children, families and couples can find comprehensive assessments, consultations, medication management, and psychotherapy (both brief and long-term) at our convenient outpatient clinics. Our clinics are staffed by resident and fellow psychiatrists, board-certified attending psychiatrists, and allied health professionals (social work, psychology, couple and family therapy).
We also offer several integrated care clinics, housed within other medical specialties at Prisma Health–Midlands. These clinics allow patients to access specialized psychiatric care where they are already an established patient (OB/GYN, Geriatric Medicine, Pediatrics). This team approach allows us to provide comprehensive care for all physical and emotional needs.
