MEDIA ALERT: Prisma Health–Midlands hosts annual Teen Health Summit

Thursday, June 13, 2019

Teen Health Summit, hosted by Prisma Health–Midlands’ Office of Community Health, is an annual event for students in grades six through 12. The summit will cover a variety of topics including healthy relationships, bullying and college life.

Friday, June 14, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.

Dreher High School, 3319 Millwood Ave., Columbia

Since its inception in 2004, more than 6,000 students have attended the Teen Health Summit. The free event will address issues that teens battle during the school year and throughout the summer.

“We want students who attend this event to walk away feeling more empowered about their health, outlook and overall well-being,” said Rashanda Abrams, organizer for the Teen Health Summit and program manager at Prisma Health.

“We believe that the students value the event and what they learn since some of the same students come back each year and leave empowered about making healthy life decisions.”
