For more information about Vestibular Rehabilitation at RCP, call 864-455-8788.

What are the benefits of the program?

Therapy goals include:

  • Improved balance/postural control
  • Improved gaze stabilization
  • Reduced risk of falls
  • Improved daily function
  • Resolution of dizziness or vertigo

Instant visual feedback allows patients to internalize correcting a loss of postural control. They learn the appropriate motor responses using the desired ankle strategies.

The Balance Master provides instant visual feedback, which allows patients to internalize and correct loss of postural control. Patients are able to learn the appropriate motor responses using the desired ankle strategies. RCP also has Balance Master Invision, which is a gaze stabilization accessory. This allows for accurate testing and training of the Vestibular Ocular Reflex (VOR). An individual needs normal VOR function to drive a car, read a book, navigate through a store and safely walk around in a crowd.

Balance training and assessment is conducted on an outpatient basis and is covered by insurance as a component of neuromuscular re-education.
