Richland Perinatal Systems

Prisma Health Richland Hospital serves as the designated Regional Perinatal Center (RPC) for the 16-county Midlands region of South Carolina. We have the highest level of skill and technology available in our region to care for high-risk obstetric and neonatal patients.

Caring for high-risk OB and neonatal patients

Each RPC in South Carolina has a perinatal systems department that is dedicated to caring for expectant mothers and their newborns in their region by ensuring seamless access to risk-appropriate care. We are responsible for providing transport services and consultation around-the-clock for other hospitals within our region.

Funded by a grant from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), our staff includes a regional systems developer, obstetric and neonatal outreach educators and administrative support.
