Carrie Ellison, PharmD

Carrie Ellison is from Auburn, Alabama and received her Doctor of Pharmacy at Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY-1 residency at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. She chose to pursue a second year residency in internal medicine at Prisma Health Richland Hospital due to the supportive preceptors, positive learning environment, and multiple opportunities to prepare her to be a well-rounded clinician. Her long-term career goals include working as an internal medicine clinical pharmacist where she is able to participate in the care for patients with a variety of disease states and precept students. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing with her cat Belle, and trying new restaurants. 

Research projects:

  • “Impact of pharmacist-led antibiotic discharge service of pneumonia readmission” (PGY1)
  • “Evaluation of guideline-directed utilization of intravenous iron in patient with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction in an inpatient setting” (PGY2)

  • “Opioid discharging prescribing habits in non-surgical patient” (PGY1)
  • “Evaluation of midodrine use for intradialytic hypotension” (PGY2)
